Welcome to the 2023-2024 School Year! My name is Megan Loh and I am thrilled to be the new principal of Reidy Creek, Home of the Coyotes!
After growing up in Connecticut, I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood/Special Education from New York University. While teaching first grade in a public New York City school for five years, I completed a Masters Program from Hunter College in Math/Science Education and also received my gifted certification through Touro College. I relocated to San Diego in 2011 and took a position as a fifth grade teacher in the Rancho Santa Fe School District. I taught fifth grade for seven years and continued my educational career at Point Loma University where I earned a second Masters degree in Educational Leadership. In 2019, I began my administrative career as an Assistant Principal in the Rancho Santa Fe School District and have been a principal in the District for the past three years.
When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Seth, and my two sons, Silas (7) and Mason (5). This summer, we took a family vacation to Yellowstone National Park and had a wonderful time. My interests include hiking, exercising, reading, and trying out new restaurants and coffee shops!
My leadership philosophy centers around putting students first. It is important to me that everyone who steps on our campus - teachers, students, and parents - feel respected and valued at our school. I also believe in setting high standards for our staff and students while providing them with the appropriate tools and skills to be successful. I am a life-long learner who works hard to stay current with best practices in education, and I look forward to working alongside all of you to support our children academically, socially, and emotionally. I promise to bring the energy, enthusiasm, and thoughtfulness that is needed to build on Reidy Creek’s success as an exemplary school.
